Carol’s studies to become a Social Worker taught her to view people not only as individuals with personal struggles but as persons who engage in many different ways with others in the world around them. These connections occur through employment, in family relationships, in places of education, as part of church communities, and so forth. Each of these connections in our world not only holds the potential to enrich us but can also be places of conflict and pain. Carol carries this awareness into her sessions with each person she meets with. She views her work as a chance to ‘walk’ with another individual as she/he/they search for ways to move towards healing and wholeness.

Carol is also trained as a Spiritual Director. For a number of years, she helped to lead day retreats under a small program called Soul Tending Retreats. Her years of work in hospice settings created within her a special sensitivity to persons on a journey of grief.
